Shipyard

Shipyard

The Shipyard constructs all spacecraft and planetary defense systems.

Overview

Property Value
Type Construction Facility
Function Builds ships and defenses
Prerequisites Robotics Factory 2; moons also require Moon Base Research 1

Description

The Shipyard is where your fleet is born. From small cargo ships to massive battleships, all vessels are constructed here. The Shipyard also produces defensive structures like turrets and shield domes.

Ship Stats

Use the Ship Stats button in the build queue to open a full stats table for every ship. This view shows your current Speed, Armor, Shield, Weapon, and Cargo with your research bonuses applied, so you can compare ships using your real numbers. It also includes Interplanetary Missiles in their own missile section.

The same queue panel also gives you a Defense Stats button so you can jump directly into your defense stat table without leaving the Shipyard flow.

If you select Anti-Ballistic Missiles or Interplanetary Missiles in the Shipyard, the details panel now includes a DESTROY button at the bottom. Pressing it removes every stored missile of that selected type on the current planet, which is useful when you want to clear old stock and free silo capacity immediately.

Build Capabilities

Each Shipyard level unlocks new ships and speeds construction:

Ships Unlocked

Ship Required Shipyard Level
Small Cargo 2
Large Cargo 4
Light Fighter 1
Heavy Fighter 3
Cruiser 5
Battleship 7
Colony Ship 4
Recycler 4
Espionage Probe 3
Bomber 8
Solar Satellite 1
Destroyer 9
Deathstar 12
Battlecruiser 8

The table above shows the Shipyard requirement only. Some ships also need research, including Deathstar, which also requires Graviton Technology 1.

Defenses Unlocked

Defense Required Shipyard Level
Rocket Launcher 1
Light Laser 2
Heavy Laser 4
Gauss Cannon 6
Ion Cannon 4
Plasma Turret 8
Small Shield Dome 1
Large Shield Dome 6

Construction Costs

Formula

Metal = 400 * 2^Level
Crystal = 200 * 2^Level
Deuterium = 100 * 2^Level

Cost Table

Level Metal Crystal Deuterium
1 400 200 100
2 800 400 200
3 1,600 800 400
4 3,200 1,600 800
5 6,400 3,200 1,600
7 25,600 12,800 6,400
9 102,400 51,200 25,600
12 819,200 409,600 204,800

Build Time

Ship and defense build time is affected by:

  1. Unit structural integrity (per unit)
  2. Shipyard level
  3. Nanite Factory level
  4. Universe speed

Time Formula (Per Unit)

Time = Structural Integrity / (2500 * (1 + Shipyard) * (2^Nanite) * Universe Speed)

The queue panel shows both the current unit timer and the total queue time. Total queue time is calculated from the orders currently in that shipyard or defense queue, so you can see how long the full production line will take to finish.

Strategy

Level Progression

  • Level 1-2: Early ships (Light Fighter, Small Cargo)
  • Level 4: Colony Ship, Large Cargo
  • Level 5: Cruiser (major upgrade)
  • Level 7: Battleship
  • Level 8: Battlecruiser, Bomber
  • Level 12: Deathstar (end-game, also needs Graviton Technology 1)

Multiple Shipyards

  • Ships can be built on planets with Shipyard, or on moons after Moon Base Research unlocks lunar Shipyards
  • Consider dedicated production planets
  • Fleet composition may require specific levels

Efficiency

  • Higher Shipyard doesn't directly speed construction
  • Robotics Factory and Nanite Factory speed building
  • Plan unlocks around your fleet goals
