Moons
Moons are created from battle debris and provide unique strategic capabilities.
Moon Creation
How Moons Form
- Battle occurs at a planet
- Debris field forms
- Chance-based moon creation
- Moon appears at planet position
Moon Chance Formula
Chance = (Debris Metal + Crystal + Deuterium) / 100,000
Every 100,000 total debris adds 1% moon chance. Chance can exceed 100% in calculation, but any roll of 100% or more guarantees a moon.
Debris Required
| Debris Total | Moon Chance |
|---|---|
| 100,000 | 1% |
| 500,000 | 5% |
| 1,000,000 | 10% |
| 2,000,000 | 20% |
| 10,000,000 | 100% |
Moon Properties
Size
Moon diameter scales with total debris on creation:
Diameter = 5,000 + (min(DebrisTotal, 10,000,000) / 10,000,000) * 5,000
- Minimum: 5,000 km
- Maximum: 10,000 km at 10,000,000 debris
- Linear scaling between those values
- Diameter determines base fields
- Lunar Base adds usable fields
Fields
Base Fields = 1 + floor(((Diameter - 5,000) / 5,000) * 9)
Usable Fields = Base + (Lunar Base Level * 5)
Base fields scale from 1 (at 5,000 km) up to 10 (at 10,000 km).

NOT Available
- Research Lab
All moons start with 10x normal metal, crystal, and deuterium storage capacity. Each Moon Base Research level doubles that moon storage capacity again.
Strategic Advantages
Fleet Hiding
Fleets stationed on moon are invisible to enemy Phalanx:
- Can't be tracked
- Surprise attacks possible
- Safer fleetsaving
Sensor Phalanx
Your moon can scan enemy planets:
- See all fleet movements
- Plan attacks precisely
- Counter fleetsaving attempts
Jump Gate
Instant fleet movement between your moons:
- No fuel cost
- No travel time
- Any distance
Moon Destruction
Moon destruction missions are now available when attacking a moon with Deathstars.
Requirements
- Target must be a moon
- Fleet must include at least 1 Deathstar
Destruction Chance
Required DS for 100% = 20 + ((Diameter - 5,000) / 5,000) * 180
Chance = min(100%, (Deathstars Remaining / Required) * 100)
- 10,000 km moon: 200 Deathstars = 100%
- 5,000 km moon: 20 Deathstars = 100%
- 1 Deathstar vs 10,000 km moon = 0.5%
Debris on Destruction
Base debris scales with moon size:
Debris Total = 100,000 + ((Diameter - 5,000) / 5,000) * 9,900,000
Distribution:
- 60% metal
- 30% crystal
- 10% deuterium
Additional debris:
- Moon building costs convert to debris using the same per-resource percentages as defense recovery.
- 50% of remaining moon resources (after combat loot) are added to debris.
Deathstar Explosion Risk
After combat (regardless of destruction outcome), there is a chance all attacking ships catastrophically explode:
Explosion Chance = 100%
Destroyed ships contribute to debris using normal ship-to-debris rules.
Moon Strategy
Getting a Moon
Options:
- Battle naturally: Large fights create debris
- Moon shot: Coordinate friend to create debris
- Trade: Pay someone to create debris for you
Moon Development
Priority order:
- Lunar Base (fields)
- Robotics Factory (speed)
- Solar Plant or Fusion Reactor if you are building a lunar economy
- Mines and storage if Moon Base Research is part of your growth plan
- Shipyard (basic defense)
- Sensor Phalanx (intelligence)
- Jump Gate (mobility)
Protection
Moons can be destroyed - protect them:
- Defense structures
- Early warning
- Alliance support
