Space Dock

Space Dock

The Space Dock is a special civilian ship that deploys a movable outpost to an empty planet slot. It is not built in the Shipyard; the first Space Dock ship is granted when you complete Space Dock Research level 1.

How You Get One

  • Complete Space Dock Research level 1.
  • The game grants one Space Dock ship to one of your planets.
  • Space Dock ships cannot be built in the Shipyard.
  • You can own only one active Space Dock asset at a time.

If your Space Dock outpost is destroyed, Space Dock Research resets to level 0. You must research it again to receive another Space Dock ship.

Deployment Rules

Space Dock deployment uses the Deployment mission type, but with special rules:

  • it must include exactly one Space Dock ship
  • it must target an empty planet slot from position 1 to 15
  • it cannot target the Exchange slot
  • it locks the destination slot while the deployment is in flight
  • it creates a Space Dock outpost on arrival

Initial deployment range is based on the planet holding the granted ship:

  • same galaxy within 50 systems
  • adjacent galaxy within 25 systems

Outpost Rules

A Space Dock outpost acts as a fleet staging world. It can launch and receive fleets, store unlimited resources, and hold docked ships. Each Space Dock Research level gives the outpost +2 effective Shipyard levels and +1 effective Nanite Factory level.

It can build only:

  • Deuterium Synthesizer
  • Solar Plant
  • Sensor Phalanx
  • Jump Gate

Space Dock outposts have a hidden internal Moon Base level 1 baseline and fixed 100% production settings. Space Dock Research also increases Space Dock deuterium production by 25% per level.

Relocation

Relocation is launched from the Facilities screen while viewing the Space Dock outpost. It carries:

  • the Space Dock ship
  • docked ships
  • stored resources

The destination must be an empty in-range planet slot. If the docked ships do not have enough total cargo capacity for all stored resources, relocation is blocked.

Destruction Risk

Space Dock outposts can be targeted by Moon Destruction missions. If destroyed:

  • the outpost is removed
  • Space Dock Research resets to level 0
  • the owner must research Space Dock again before receiving a replacement
